Ready for the 4th

Independence Day is just three days away, and 20-month-old Dallas Mercer Jones is trying to decide which holiday fare is his favorite -- watermelon or ice cream. It seems right now that Dallas is leaning towards the frozen treat.
Folks around Candler County will most likely be serving up ice cream, ice cold watermelon and other cool refreshments on Saturday as temperatures are expected to reach into the upper 90s.

Attention churches!

We are building our church directory for the entire Candler County community. If you want to have your church listed, we need your church's name, mailing address, contact name and phone number, pastor's name and meeting times. Also, if your church has a web site, we can link our readers directly to your site -- just give us your web address. Send your information to Church Directory.

Free web access for our troops!

We are compiling a list of our brave men and women serving in the military. To have your soldier's name and mailing address listed, e-mail Active Duty List. And to show our appreciation to those who are currently serving abroad in active duty, we are providing you free access to our web site throughout the duration of your tour. Please  e-mail Web Access for Our Troops, and provide us your name and the anticipated date your tour will end, and we will forward you a special access code.

Extra! Extra!

Don't forget our "photo album" site! View the pictures we have, then send us some of your own! Just go to "submit picture" in the photos from our readers album. We'd love to hear from you!
